I am a Software engineer with over 10 years commercial experience in Java, Delphi, C/C++, VB, and javascript. I have spent the last three years specialising in Java. I am currently trading as thorstone Technologies, which combines the skills of an excellent software engineer, with a highly creative web developer.Interfeed DB Client: The Interfeed DB Client is a system to import the latest stock market data into any database format supported by ODBC. It is an NT service written in C++, and is currently being used by INC on [login to view URL]. It connects to AXL’s Landmark system via a TCP/IP socket, and supports Equity, Forex, and Futures/Options data. My roles on this product included the addition of futures and options, and general support of the system, liasing directly with the client. Proquote: This is a client side real-time market data system written in Java, it displays up to the minute market data, and is available for download on a demo account on [login to view URL]. [login to view URL]: An online Trading Site written using Broadvision 4.1 for Solaris. I was brought in during the preliminary discussions about architecture, and continued to work on the site, until it went into maintenance mode in 2000. I also worked on the digital TV version of the site for telewest. I developed CORBA (Sun workshop) C++ / Java components (the C++ code was basically an interface to the Java), to interface between the Broadvision server side JavaScript pages, and the JHC Transaction Server using EJB Technology. I worked on a generic mapping interface between JavaScript and Java based on Netscape’s Live Connect technology. This allowed the pages to talk to the Java code directly (TDW was in the Financial Times top four trading web sites, and has won Investors Cronacle award for best trading site two years running). The interface components were later given the product name Myopia, and I believe sold to Axion. During this time I also worked on [login to view URL] (an ASP project), specified Commerzbanks research site, developed a Java Servlet for Thomas [login to view URL], and developed a number of B2B/B2C Web based systems in java. Netstar/TAS: Netstar is a Fax/Telex program, which is used by a number of the large banks and investment houses in the City. It allows the user to send and receive faxes, and telexes via a local area network. TAS (Telematics Access System) was the server, and Netstar the client. TAS was a Borland Pascal product, whaich was later converted to Delphi 4 for NT. Netstar was written in Borland C++, Microsoft C 2, and Borland Object Pascal, and Assembler, I later converted this to Delphi/Microsoft VC++. The system was partly a visual queuing system that allowed users to view their incoming/outgoing messages, and partly a print driver, written using minidriver technology that converted documents to Huffman Encoded T4. This allowed a user to print from any application to a Fax/Telex Number. The NT version used COM technology.§ Internet Mail Gateway: This was a Delphi product, which was written before e-mail was as standardised as it is today, it took advantage of the Domain Name Forwarding System, to allow users to send/Receive email between the Internet, and their local email System. It could convert message formats between MAPI, VIM and POP/SMTP. This had a full macro language that allowed the user to send an email to the server, with instructions to block email addresses, set up auto responders, etc.
