Hi,
I need a logo and website design for a new site - KinderRelief.com.au.
What the site does:
When a teacher is sick, they log into the site and flag that they need to be replaced for the day. Someone from the kindergarten/school authorises it, and the job is sent to replacement teachers. They accept the job, and are notified whether they are successful or not. If successful they come to work.
I need all pages to be designed, but will pick the winner based on the logo, homepage, and a calendar. I'll then work with the winner to finalise the design of a features page (based on the homepage), login screen and data entry pages (included within the contest prize of $500).
The calendar is used by the kindergarten/school so that they can easily see which days a teacher will be absent, which replacement jobs have been advertised, which jobs have been applied for, and which jobs they have filled. I'm thinking it should just be a different colour for different statuses, but it doesn't have to be.
There is a separate calendar for teachers, so that they can see when and where they have been booked to work.
The closest comparison site is www.ClassCover.com.au. This is the closest in terms of app functionality and what the product does - this is not what I want the site design or the logo to look like.
For the homepage design I am looking for something similar to www.chartbeat.com, although not necessarily the same colour scheme. The attached word document has the text that goes in the different bands of the layout.
Logo design - I'm looking for something simple and modern, in a vector format. Can be either abstract or pictorial. Not looking for a word art type logo, or something that is just letters K and or R (so not a Facebook type logo), as if this product works well for kindergartens, I might expand into other areas where the name or letters won't work.
The logo also needs to be suitable for an iPhone app icon.
Some logos I like - ChartBeat, HipChat, Nike, Audible, Freelancer, Apple, Spotify.
What I don't want - anything like Starbucks, London 2012, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Skoda.

Thanks for your entries so far. I have updated the brief a little. Just to clarify that I don't want a logo based on the letter K or initials KR. And that while the product is most similar to ClassCover, I do not want the website design to look like it.

Not really. Of the logo designs that have come in so far, I quite liked a red one and one with shades of green. Do not want one that only works if the website is all grey/white.

No coding required. The vector is just for the logo (compatible with Adobe CS4). For the site design, happy with photoshop (also CS4) as long as I also get all the source files for any icons or photos you put in there.

To pick the winner, I just want the homepage and the calendar. After that we'll finalise the other pages together based on the homepage design.
