Looking for a custom WordPress travel blog. My site is located at http://www.passportdave.com. I have previously used pre-built WordPress travel blog templates but have not been satisfied with them. There is simply not enough selection out there for this genre.
WHAT IS PASSPORTDAVE.COM?
This is a project that I am starting to travel the world long term and document all my adventures along the way. I will be starting out in SouthEast Asia at the start of the new year with the goal of visiting every country on the planet over the next decade.
DESIGN?
I like lighter colored designs. Minimalism is great but only to the point where it can retain the functionality and information of any mainstream travel blog. One travel blog that I really enjoy is www.wanderingearl.com. Other than that, I will leave the creative genius to the designers.
Along with the design, I would also like a logo created that will not only be used on the WordPress site but that will also be used to stamp my personal photographs and videos.
RECAP
Good solid travel blog design for WordPress with logo included. Nothing too cheesy and easy to navigate for any users that come across it. Will leave the particulars up to the designers. Must also include clear English instructions on how to install the theme and make use of it. The winning project will become my property and is not to be used elsewhere except for screenshots in your portfolio. Any and all images included must be free to use and/or your creation as I do not want any copyright issues.
BONUS
If your entry is chosen and is exceptionally good ("blows my mind") I will be willing to submit a $100 bonus on top of the contest funds.

I feel the same way wingedove. A contest is a contest and if you don't specify the true length of the contest up front it can be detrimental to both the freelancer and the contest holder.

I definitely enjoy your design. Good color scheme, good layout, good content. The top is awfully basic as you have already stated. Other than that, I would like to see some follow up pages or possibly a live preview to get a better feel for your design. A bit basic on the homepage but that may totally work for this design I would just need to see a bit more. Pretty solid design though. Good job.

I am interested in doing this project for you. I do understand that this will be a travel blog and it is kept in contest. Please do provide more information about your project requirement i mean the travel website will provide only informational data or there will be booking and other functionalities.
If i provide you only the design of home page will that do ?
Please try to understand it is very hard to work and if you need complete website then it is not possible but if you just need an idea then i can provide you that.

Yes, I am looking for an entire theme for WordPress. It will simply be informational with photos and stories and a few extra wordpress gadgets that I can add later on. I understand it is a large undertaking for the award listed so please only submit an entry if you deem it to be worth the prize money.
