Graphics for Stickers and Marketing Collateral w/Mascot. (Hot Sauce Company)

竞赛简介

These notes/images are the general direction we'd like to go, BUT do not let that limit you if you can achieve the 3 goals below with a different take! We are contracting you because we are NOT the creative ones, so we are open to anything really.

Overall Appearance: First and foremost, it must grab the eye. Bold colors, provocative/arresting graphics, interesting wording, etc. Second, it must convey something memorable, probably both the tagline and the company logo/website address, as well as the graphic mascot. The whole thing can be sassy and irreverent, but needs to also be "kid friendly", not vulgar.

Wording: Must have "AtxHotSauce.com" fairly prominently featured. Preferably the company logo as well, although I'm thinking that could be smaller. Other than that, you can go with the wording/tagline in the mockups, but feel free to come up with your own.

Mascot: A chile pepper(of course) or an armadillo(We are from Texas) is our idea, probably cartoony. Something recognizable and very memorable. We'd like to use this on stickers, labels and other marketing collateral (flyers, newsletters, etc.)

Notes on the Armadillo: In Texas we have "9 Banded Armadillos". There are famous images/models here of an armadillo on its back or feet drinking a beer. So maybe something like that only drinking a bottle of hot sauce instead. Fire, flames, crazy expression could all be elements of the design. Again, just suggestions, not required, so use your imaginations.

Notes on Chile Pepper mascot: For this I think the two on the mockup convey the general look we are thinking of, but again, not required...

We were also thinking about using the 'bands' on an armadillo to indicate the heat level of a particular hot sauce. But that may be a separate simpler graphic that we would use only on the bottles and/or website. Not the sticker graphics we're doing here.

Hi Res Vector and Layered files will be required, as we will obviously need to move elements around for different uses and resolutions.

    #19 : Cool, but see previous comment: "I used yellow and red colors because it grabs the eye, but my partner isn't a fan. He thinks it's too old school "Tex-Mex", as all Mexican restaurants in Texas tend to use those colors, and we are not a Mexican restaurant."

    #1-2: Cool, but not very compelling. I probably wouldn't look twice at this to see what it's about.
    #3: Too busy, wrong bottle shape, mascot is not immediately identifiable.
    #4-5: Basically our existing logo with a licensed image. Not what we are looking for.
    #6 -7: Not yet submitted
    #8 : Great, although it's basically my mockup. Love the mascot! I would make the web url bigger. That would satisfy the company perspective of communication. Can I see this in bumper sticker format as well and maybe different colors? (maybe white background?) Might want to use a bottle rather than chile pepper, not sure. Current leader!

    Comments on Entries: #10 : Pretty cool. Bottle shape is wrong, but I like the graphic. Layout needs work.
    #11 -13: Nice. Again, the website address is the #1 piece of info we want to stick as far as Objective #2 , so needs to be bigger. Not sure about the "skater punk" mascot, but you're on the right track. I particularly like the upper right white background version layout on #11 .
    #14 : I like the graphic, although it really communicates armadillos and chile peppers, not necessarily hot sauce. I like what you did with the layout and colors, and points for your own tagline. Potential.

    You have to look at your entry from two OBJECTIVES:
    #1 The person with the sticker: Why would someone want to put this design on their car, their notebook, wear the t-shirt, etc.? There should be something beyond the actual hot sauce that they are projecting. I'm HOTT. I have attitude. I'm a badass. I'm cool. This is a neat design. etc.
    So for taglines, I like "Hot Stuff" and "Get Scorched", but again use your own ideas if you have them. I used yellow and red colors because it grabs the eye, but my partner isn't a fan. He thinks it's too old school "Tex-Mex", as all Mexican restaurants in Texas tend to use those colors, and we are not a Mexican restaurant.

    #2 The company's perspective. Does it portray our product accurately? Is it compelling without being offensive? Is our website and name communicated clearly? Is it awesome?

    General Comments: Some of the entries use a bottle shape that is incorrect. All graphic elements can convey information via shape, color, placement and size. I would suggest looking through our website first so you understand the product well. https://atxhotsauce.com
    Whoever "gets" the concept will likely be retained for further work. I would like to see the submissions both in oval sticker and rectangular bumper sticker layouts FYI.

    Please note as in the mockups I provided, the idea is to grab attention with a statement and tagline, and only then after peoples' attention has been attracted will the see the company logo and website address. So on #4 and 5, the logo is to big and prominent. Basically we want people to share and use the sticker because of the provacative wording and graphics, with the logo and website as a detail with which we get exposure.
