Users can move these tiles around and can also change the size and appearance of the tiles. The phone also has a dark theme that focuses on prolonging the battery life so users can enjoy longer battery use.
Text input - users enjoy an onscreen virtual keyboard which includes emoticons and predictive text.
Sophisticated web browser - the web browser keeps a list of the user's favourite web pages and links the pages to tiles on the start screen. Users can also zoom in and out of animations and pictures.
People hub contact list - the ‘People hub’ can manually import contacts from Facebook, Windows, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, and Outlook. The hub also shows the user’s social network status and also updates and activity.
Supported email - the Windows Phone supports Outlook, Exchange, Gmail, and Yahoo!Mail as well as a range of POP and IMAP email services. Emails are shown in threads.
Built in multimedia - Built in media include Xbox Music and Xbox Video and the phone’s pictures hub.
Games hub - the games hub function includes a range of Xbox Live games as well as multiplayer games which can be downloaded from the phone’s store.
