The "coding style" of the existing LAMP-Web-App is pretty "freestyle" / procedural - functional mixing HTML, DB-Queries, PHP echoing out JScript with the results of the DB-queries, and so on ... You can find an older version of the app at SourceForge - the newer version is a bit "better" with fewer copy-pasted / redundant parts of code - but still pretty unprofessional and with a "not-so-nice" UI...
