I run a scaffold drafting service and my firm is switching to Rhino from MicroStation. We need to have our block library redone and fixed up as part of converting to 3dm. There are a lot of issues with the existing blocks and we would prefer starting from scratch. Anybody with existing models of the popular and widespread Layher AllRound scaffold system would have a serious advantage. You will be given about 30 blocks to make at first - more if the first ones turn out well or you have an existing library to help convert. The blocks need to be simple and accurate. We have prepared some guidance material to help and a file with some starting points. We currently use the microstation V8i Michigan DOT workspace with a few workarounds in order to create CAD drawings and basemaps of underground utilities. We are wanting to switch to Microstation Connect and create our own Custom Workset/Workspace, Seed File, Line styles, Cell Library, and possibly even a script or FME workspace for point processing and other automations. Having an issue converting Microstation CAD drawing to Autocad or Navisworks. There is an issue with the Smart Solids in the Microstation file not retaining their original dimensions during the conversion. According to online help, one solution is to convert from DGN to NWC using Microstation, but requires Microstation and Navisworks running on the same machine, which we do not have. Attached find a sample file to test if you are able to convert. Price based on 10 files to convert.
