On 1 July 2009, Mr Lee and his family migrated to Australia. Thereafter, Mr Lee purchased a house in Sydney to provide accommodation to his family in July 2010. Mr Lee’s wife and children has resided in Australia since 1 July 2009, where the children are currently attending high school.
Mr Lee remains an active partner in an audit firm based in Singapore even after migrating to Australia and is required to return to Singapore for considerable lengths of time. During his periods of absence from Australia, Mr Lee resides in a second family home in Singapore.
Mr Lee has substantial investments in Singapore. He maintains close contact with his relatives and with sporting and cultural interests in Singapore. Mr Lee makes regular visits to Australia to see his family. During the 2009/2010 income tax year, he spent 150 days in Australia. Mr Lee has not decided yet whether he would like to reside permanently in Australia.
