I have a function that dowanlods a file from the internet teh file size is about 20 mega

after it dowanlod it i extract the file and start reading it and inserting data into a local database at this point the app freezes waht i need is to start a new thread in which ithe reading and inserting of data is done one and sends msgs to the main thread about the progress

the app must be in adobe flex and must run on ios and android
