Annotated Bibliography for Research Project

I am writing a research paper on gendered linguistic practices in sororities, and I need to find at least 6 more sources and put all the sources into an annotated bibliography in APA format. Instructions for Annotated Bibliography: Through library/internet research find scholarly research studies that shed light upon your research topic or on language and gender at sites similar to your research site. These sources will most likely be academic journal articles, but may also be book chapters, or possibly whole books. Write one paragraph about each study in your annotated bibliography. These annotations should not summarize the study; instead, they should specify what each of the works you are citing contributes to your project. Use APA format. Description of my research topic: I am exploring how language is used to perpetuate or challenge gender roles in different sororities. The Empowered Arab Sisterhood has a mission to express female empowerment and empower other women, and break gender stereotypes about women in the Arab world. In contrast, many other typical sororities, through their language with each other and their communication with men, especially those in fraternities, perpetuate the idea of a male dominated society. Most sororities and fraternities promote a culture that endorses stereotypical gender roles through language. When engaging with members of the opposite sex, members may also alter their speech to fall into a more submissive gender role as women. I aim to find out whether sororities use of language is different within sorority settings versus outside of one, and how their language and ideology perpetuates gender roles.
