I just want to know some details: "common loading rules and user-defined objectives" Just to understand which option can the user select for the bin packing 3D algorithm. Hi, I have quoted EUR1750 (rather than EUR1250) since I find there are two Milestones, one for Offline bin packing and one for Online bin packing). I think the effort for the two milestones could be similar two smaller projects. Also, my initial assumption is it could take a bit longer for these two algorithms. Hence I mentioned 60 days. However, if possible, I would try to finish the two milestones before that. regards, Varun

i have 10 years of experience in image processing and visualization, 7 of them professionally as a medical image processing software engineer where i used openGL to deliver many projects. I also have 3 years of undergrad work focused mainly on bio-metrics. I have a M.Sc. degree in computer engineering focusing on image processing. I've worked on the design and implementation of many large systems, so i'm experienced with numerous systems and technologies. i believe this project falls within my area of expertise because i use optimization extensively in many image processing tasks. Honestly, If you have access to a number of data sets, I would be interested to take on the project for fun. I have an interest in optimisation, and have built a number of very high performance applications, as lead developer on 2 3d game titles, I wrote the libraries that did all of the geometry optimisation to improve the display performance, as well as the display pipeline myself. I'm interested how you are estimating containers required without having the packing plans? And also exactly what you are looking for from the packer if you are happy with your current fitness functions? It would seem the best improvements come from changes made to these? I have a lot of experience in algorithm writing and computational geometry in general. However this project would be long and challenging due to many different constraints (different rotation transformations allowed for each item, different stacking limits for each item, item grouping, consideration of item weight which means avoid stacking heavy items on top of light ones, avoiding noticeable center of mass offsets from geometrical load center and so on. Also, for optimal performance two completely different algorithms should be written, one for complete dataset ("offline" mode) and one for incremental computation ("online" mode). Sadly, this kind of project can't fit in such budget requirements. Contact me if still interested.
