Please see below an extract from a recent article I wrote. I always try to make my articles interesting and include keywords in the text as naturally as possible.
(The keyword phrase was 'rockabilly make-up styles).
Rockabilly is a form of music that originated in America during the 1950’s. It derived its name from a combination of the terms rock n’ roll and hillbilly, the two forms of music it evolved from. As well as its pounding beats, hypnotic rhythms and jangling guitar lines, the music is also memorable for the iconic look sported by its followers. Rockabilly make-up styles and fashion have inspired many fashions and looks since the 50’s, but many people still favour the authentic rockabilly look itself. In fact the rockabilly fashions and styles are probably as popular now as they ever were. Even if you don’t want to dress up in rockabilly fashion everyday and prefer a more sober style for your usual work and social life, the clothes and rockabilly make-up styles can be ideal for a party or special occasion.
There were a number of successful female performers who created the look of the original female rockabilly. These performers included Wanda Jackson, Janis Martin and Jo Ann Campbell. Although the clothes they wore were as bold and distinctive as the men’s, for women the look would not be complete without the colourful rockabilly make-up styles so closely associated with the sub-culture. The look is surprisingly understated for the overall effect that it gives. The key is to make it minimal, but bold. The makeup kit of any aspiring rockabilly pin-up girl needs to include some basic essentials.
