I need a resource that can help me out with some tedious work, we are about to launch a sport tipster site, where users provide gambling advices. The framework with a decent web-based admin client is in place, now I need a resource to help me with filling the system with entries like, Sport Category, League name (+ any cups) and team names, all represented with the official league & team logo as icon.
An example for ways of working:
Category Soccer, Country Italy:
1.) Google for "italy soccer system"
2.) Found the [login to view URL] wiki site
3.) In the WIKI u can see the leagues in Italy, select the top 2 leagues, Serie A, Serie B + the relevant cups for these 2 leagues, then register these in our admin gui, include any logo pictures as well (these have to be edited in photoshop first, shrinking to the correct size)
4.) Now that you know the leagues, you go ahead and find all relevant teams in the leagues and enter these in the admin client in the same way, with icons
The above is just an example, there are millions of data sources you can use for the collection portion of this assignment (sport statistics pages etc etc).
Attached is an excel sheet which I´ve started with (only begun mapping some soccer/football teams)
Of course it´s possible to bulk-load objects into the database, but I will not allow you access to the production database directly, so in this case you can prepare CSV-formatted files and I will import this.
I estimate that we will need to find and register about 10-20.000 objects (countries,leagues,cups and teams)in total, but this will be an ongoing job, so please present an offer based per 1000 objects or similar.
I will require you to have some previous experiences with databases, data processing and especially some entry level knowledge about photo editing in photoshop or similar (scaling the icons so they look OK is essential, sometimes this might require some proportional editing, not just changing the size if u know what I mean)
For the right resource, this might result in more assignments related to the website or other web projects
Again: please present an offer based per 1000 objects or similar
