Combine Excel databases Project

Object is to combine information to one database and then eliminate duplicate listings. **Step 1** There are 5 different databases attached that in many cases have overlapping information. While the names of many people may appear in multiple databases, in some cases 1 database will have more information than the other. For instance, there may be an email address or phone number in 1 record that does not appear for the same name in the other. The first step should be to combine all the information under the appropriate columns into 1 spreadsheet. Column names may not be a perfect match from 1 sheet to another but they should be clear enough to place the data in the correct column. **Please contact us if you are not sure of any step.** Please keep 1 version of the column labels. **Step 2** Sort the combined spreadsheet/database by last name and first name. You will then be able to see duplicate records for the same names. Some of these records will have information in cells that other records for the same name do not have. In this case **create 1 combined record that includes all the information from the multiple records.** **Once this stage is complete save this version of the spreadsheet as spreadsheet named combined records database step 2.** This will be one of the files you send us. **Step 3** Delete the duplicate names so that there is only one complete listing for each name. The listing that remains must have **all the consolidated information that appeared in the all the records**. By doing these steps you will have made sure that information for each record is as complete as possible. **Once this stage is complete save this version of the spreadsheet as spreadsheet named combined no duplicates database.** This will be the second files you send us.
