I am intested in building the device. Following is my proposal 1. Device will be able to send messages (coordinates) in response to recieved text messages. 2. Device will be able to record data (GPS coordinates, SMS recieved) using flash or some other memory source and download onto computer (through USB or serial). 3. Device will go to low power mode if stationary at a place for more than 5 min (helps in power saving) and will awake after movement starts or message is recieved from the mobile. I am not an expert in power consumption and will have to formulate techniques that can help in achiving that. Selection of components will be notified after the project is awarded. Will start working only after the project gets awarded. Bid price : for project Hardware cost : Extra.

In addition to the basic tracking functionality I have an android app that can be installed and its linked with google map to show the vehicle on the map anytime user wants. this app is available on google play store.
