Hi, I have a master degree in physics and working as a researcher for seven years. I have worked on different project related to ultrasound which includes, development of acoustical transparent material to transmit maximum intensity from an acoustic source to environment, literature review on use of ultrasound for mine detection. As you mentioned in project description, the impedance mismatch is the most easy way to block the ultrasounds. But it depends upon the frequency of ultrasound angle on incidence. Please contact me to discuss your frequencies of interest so that I could suggest you a suitable material to block those ultrasonic frequencies. Hello! I am not physicist, but I have an experience with ultrasound distance sensors. I have built US system to navigate in room, but this project was failed, because ultrasound from 40 kHz sensors/trasmitters is very narrowly focused.
