I have an excel spreadsheet detailing all the revenue booked into Quickbooks. I also have an excel spreadsheet detailing division reports for the year. The total revenues from the two sheets are different and I need to know where the difference is and why.
There are 62 transactions in one spreadsheet and 39 statements summarized in the other. The statements may contain revenue from one or more of the revenue transactions summarized.
I need supporting documentation showing the reconciliation between the two sheets with noted errors or explanations.
the same exercise has to be done for two sets of sheets not just one.
I have summarized the data into pivot tables already.

Must prepare a report showing the reconciling of two lists of financial data. I need more than just pointing out which lines do not match but determining which lines may match a second set of data if they are combined. For example, revenue for a division may be $10,500 made up of 3 invoices on another sheet say $1,500, $5,000 and $4,000 that are separate due to timing issues. I have good data to start with and just need to see where the actual discrepancies exist with a report to show the reconciliation. Please let me know how you would approach the problem, what the timeline would be and whether you have the background to do this. I am happy to answer any questions should you need clarification.
