Design some Fashion

An emerging British designer label is looking for a fashion accessories designer who can make items such as handbags, purses, messenger bags, tote bags and weekend holdall. The company is at a starting point and we want to launch these products in 2015 which means most of our items will be sold online. It is our aim to build a solid team and brand reputation. Our name stands for high quality and made in England as we believe in and support investing in the British industry. We use genuine leather from suppliers in the U.K and only use the finest materials to give our products longevity, reliability and character. This is a great opportunity to join and build a team with future prospects of becoming a reputed designer. The position is aimed at freelance designers and fashion graduates wishing to progress in their chosen career. The work however is temporary as we will be buying your services rather than employing you so you are responsible for paying your own taxes if applicable. Although as mentioned, you will have the opportunity to be employed as the company grows and would enjoy the benefits of designing for a high end British brand. Our ideal candidate would be someone from a very knowledgeable background in fashion with extensive knowledge in leather, accessories, bag making, belts, wrist wear, Abode Photoshop & illustrator and preferably AutoCAD. You must understand women’s passion for accessories, especially hand bags and be able to apply this to your work. You will design in according to the latest and upcoming high end fashion trends however all the designs will be determined and finalised by us and we will provide all the materials but you will be working from your own workspace. You must own or have access to an industrial/semi industrial sewing machine for leather unless you are highly skilled in hand stitching & craftsmanship. You will be required to showcase your previous work such as samples and prototypes. A portfolio of sketch designs is preferred but not essential. The price for your work can be negotiated but please do bear in mind that we are not a big company that deals with mass production.
