I have a simple page at [login to view URL] An invoice number is input here, and the button is clicked so that the invoice number shows a transaction in a database table as being paid. However, I want the transaction table to be checked first to see if that invoice number has already been paid, prior to inserting the invoice data again.

The problem which you have described can be done using procedural or OOP through PHP. And I can develope a function for you through which you can check the invoice number first and then insert the record to the table in database.
