About the Organization: Sustainable Bolivia (SB) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides human and financial resources to Bolivian organizations in need. We're a global community of environmentally and socially conscious citizens working toward a sustainable future. About the Position: In 2016, SB is expanding its operations into the Bolivian Amazon, establishing a new venture focused on sustainable energy, permaculture, conservation, and traditional plant-based medicine. We've secured over 200 acres of old growth rainforest in North-Eastern Bolivia to implement this project. SB is in need of a web-developer to create a new website that promotes an associated ecotourism project. The selected candidate is expected to create a seamless user experience so that the target audience is able to effortlessly navigate and use website features. Responsibilities • Work alongside Executive Director to implement consistent web page infrastructure and applications • Code website using HTML • Post completed site to internet server using FTP software • Create and edit images and graphics for website use • Map and outline the website's structural content • Ensure that the website and all online publications are easily accessible • Recommend and implement new functionality • Help develop a user friendly back-end system (wordpress) Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience • Working knowledge of PHP and HTML • Knowledge of SEO best practices • Knowledge of Photoshop and creating/editing images for the Web • Ability to thrive working both independently and within team settings • Comfort with a professional yet playful workplace culture • Ability to interact with a diverse range of people. • Spanish language skills (preferred) Compensation and Benefits: The right candidate will receive a private and fully furnished room. Internet, international phone calls, shared meals, visa expenses and in country transportation is also provided. The selected candidate can also attend a ten-day plant medicine retreat at no cost ($2,000 value). Perhaps most importantly, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to live, work, and travel in Bolivia, while building something truly worthwhile.
