Ajax bugfix: unsafe header with SSL

After changing to SSL an Ajax form stopped working. Ajax request is sent to the same server and domain beginning with https so there should be no cross domain issues.
Error in Firefox console:
Attempt to set a forbidden header was denied: Connection
Error in Chrome:
Refused to set unsafe header "Connection"
Code:
[login to view URL]([login to view URL], [login to view URL], true);
if([login to view URL] == "POST" && this._postdata != null && [login to view URL]) {
[login to view URL]('Content-type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded');
[login to view URL]('Connection', 'close');
}
I tried adding [login to view URL] = true; but didn't help.
The server is dedicated using Ubuntu and might need configuration for CORS.
