Convert C# function to Send / receive data from TCP server to Node.js

I have the following function written in C# that sends and receives data to a TCP server. I need this function converted to javascript to run in Amazon Web Services Lambda Node.js. The general outline is: a) function receives a string. b) convert string to bytes and calculate length c) send length to server d) send bytes to server e) server sends back calculating f) server send back length to receive g) server sends back bytes h) convert bytes to string I) return string function ends.
