Apply new Joomla template

I have an existing Joomla based website, and would like a new template applied. Some changes to navigation may be required, and would need to save some existing text/articles from the site. I have the template - need a logo to be added.
Would like to take advantage of registration facility, and a pay-per-article module as well. Looking for recomendations on this.
There are a couple of email issues to resolve, as the site is hosted by a third party, and I run a hosted exchange email account. Shouldn't be too difficult for someone with a little knowledge.
Quick turnaround is required on this.
