We are looking for someone who can link up remote databases to execute regular/nightly updates to one central database (MySQL on Linux) from various operating systems (mainly Windows and Linux) and database platforms (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS Access, etc.). This will require matching up different data structures to fit the data structure design of the central database (intent is to use Pentaho Data Integration / Kettle to do this). It will also likely require the occasional in-person visits to those administering the remote database systems. Required: - experience with Linux and (to lesser extent) Windows Server - experience with SQL and database systems (preferably more than one) - ability to write batch jobs for Windows and Linux environments - experience using sftp - ability to make occasional in-person visits to administrators of linked database systems Additional skills that would be appreciated: - ability to administer a Linux server with MySQL and sftp - experience with Pentaho Data Integration / Kettle - experience with Apache and PHP Prepared to offer competitive compensation based on skills and experience. Looking for 10-20 hours per week for 2-3 months, starting around end of April / beginning of May.

I am a certified Talend ETL developer with over 4 years experience building data integration processes. I am also an Oracle certified MySQL developer with 5 years experience working in large enterprise database systems. I currently run a MySQL system which has over 80M records and handles 100K transactions a day. I have designed and built 100s of ETL jobs for various clients and am extremely familiar with Kettle and Pentaho as well- though i am certified and mostly experienced in Talend. I have extensive database administration experience and am extremely well versed in optimization principles for large database systems. I have handled data integrations with MySQL, MS-SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and also have extensive experience with MS Access. I have built numerous process using sftp process in Talend. I have some PHP experience in Zend Framework and can navigate around an application easily in Object Oriented Code. However my core expertises is in Database Development and Administration and ETL development. I am based in NYC where i serve as VP of Technology for a leading intellectual property database company. I'm looking to augment my current workload and am flexible on working hours. I would be available asap. I am a dedicated hard worker and would very much like to help with this project as i feel it is a perfect fit.
