Add advanced search to left column of magento site

I started this and have got stuck. I want to add the advanced search to the left hand column on my site [url removed, login to view] on each page. See the site to see how far I've got. I have changed to dropdown selection, but I need the top default selection to "select all". I managed to add it to the left column but it didn't quite look right, the search button turned out too small.
Nobody will touch the site. I will do the changes myself. I just need someone to tell me what to change. This is so I can be sure nobody messes the site up.
There is just one other smaller thing in with this project. The carpet calculator works out how many tiles someone needs for a room based on measurements and adds on 10% to allow for wastage. For some calculations it gives figures like 120.0000001, when I would like it to just show 120. So it needs rounding to the nearest whole number. Again I need you to tell me the code I need to add into the current code I have to correct this.
So small project, but I have other things that need doing later if this one goes well.
