Create an Android APP that connects to WiFi

Hi, Android can't directly connect to external databases. A PHP script is needed to act as a middleman between a database and an Android device. Is this acceptable for you? Is this app supposed to run in background or does it have a user interface? Cheers, Milan

If you need to connect to earlier predefined set of WiFi HotSpots there shouldn't be any magic with it. You will define connection to each of them and later android will automatically connect to it. Rest of work read some data from database modify it and write it back to DB and establish TCP communication send / receive. Is there any advanced UI required or you need just one button which will start whole automatic process and some process step information need to be displayed ? The data read from MySQL should be presented in somehow to user ? Is there any other user interaction required for this app ? Could you also describe a bit how you expect to search WiFi HotSpots ? Should it be as I describe on beginning or you expect some discovery for new ones and try to connect to it ? Regards, Pawel
