Hi, I can help you in your project, To get a less than 1 second read card to show photo, there are several questions; But you need to define: 1) How many scanners are going to use at the same time? 2) I guess you are going to use wifi conection to the database from the android phone/tables, who does your wifi network perform in the peak of the event access entry? (in the places you will scan the RFID) 3) Can you state the exact model of RFID cards? 4) What type of database/operating system is in the server? 5) Are you going to need a high availability system ( mainly is 2 servers working Active-Pasive) 6) How large is the Database? 7) What average size are the photos in the Database? 8) Is the Database server in the same LAN as the wifi hotspots in the scanning area? We completed similar project recently, however area of application was different: coach driver is equipped with Android tablet and external RFID/NFC reader. Passengers coming in has to scan their tags and the application It is really fast, because tablets are synchronizing local databases independently and the first check is against the local data. Only when it's not positive, we interact with the server to pull more data (personal details, photo etc.). This project can be partially adopted to your needs. Rest of the code we can build for you, as we are acting mainly as external software developer. The mentioned budget is enough to create a stable and reliable tablet solution. However the server part of this project is underestimated I guess. At least for official European company. We can not only provide you the solution - like a freelancer who works in a month for few projects - we can ensure you the people assigned to your project will work full-time until the successful final delivery.
