Development of iPhone & Android application

I need an application which helps foreigners to know how to pronounce Kanjis (Chinese characters used in Japan) they encounter while living or traveling in Japan, or studying Japanese language. It is very difficult for foreigners to know how to read or pronounce each Kanji even though they have basic, or sometimes advanced, speaking skills. I mean there are many foreigners who can speak Japanese, but can’t read Japanese, especially Kanji. If you don’t know how to read a Kanji, you can’t even look it up in a dictionary. In fact, there are dictionaries which are specifically designed to check the pronunciation of each Kanji, but they are difficult and time-consuming to use even for Japanese, so it is not a good nor practical option for foreigners. If I can provide them with the pronunciation of a Kanji manually using an app, it will make their learning or life much easier. I see that there are some Kanji recognition apps, but they don’t always work correctly. The system flow is something like this: 1. User can take a photo of Kanji(s) from the app or select a photo saved on their device. 2. User can edit or trim this photo to include just the Kanjis (could be a word which consists of Kanji and Hiragana, or a complete sentence which includes one or more Kanjis) whose pronunciation they want to know. Actually each Kanji could have more than one ways of pronunciations, so it is ideal if user always provide Kanji as a word, phrase or sentence to clarify the context where they are used. 3. User can upload this photo to a server. 4. I get a notification when a photo is uploaded and can see it on an application made for administrators who should be native Japanese speakers. 5. I see a list of Kanjis sent from various users, which is constantly updated, and on the very same screen I can rewrite each Kanji (so that they can copy and save it as a text), insert its pronunciation in Romaji and send them back to each user. 6. The answer I wrote appears on user’s screen immediately. 7. User can save the result so that they can see it along with the original Kanji anytime they want in the future Some considerations: 1. I am aware that users’ needs can go beyond this simple function in the future. For example, some users might want to know the meaning of Kanjis as well as its pronunciation. But for now, I want to focus on the Kanji recognition function manually done by native Japanese speakers to attack the niche market. 2. There should be 2 or 3 people working to provide this service 24/7 basis, so the app for administrators should be able to be installed on various devices. 3. If there is big demand, the admin app should be implemented as a desktop app for PC in the future to make the work easier. 4. This system obviously involves manual work to give correct results, which is different from other existing apps, so it is important that user should pay for it each time they use the function. User can be charged according to the number of Kanji characters (for example, $0,08 per character), or it could be monthly subscription. This is the basic idea, The system can grow with additional features in the future, but I want to start with basic functionality to see users’ demand.
