A small boutique fashion company is looking to automate their sales invoice process by using mobile technology to scan and track sales orders.

First, details of each sales order are recorded manually. This leads to errors in writing down the correct information causing errors in the orders that are eventually shipped. Automating the sales order process is the highest priority.

The second problem is that the company is looking to expand. This means that Sales reps might not be working in just one location. A solution is needed that can allow multiple users in different locations to add sales orders in one central database. The owner will need the ability to run custom reports, monitor sales orders, send emails, analyze data, print, save and archive this information.

In the future, each sales rep will be able to login to a web or mobile application that has barcode scanning functionality through a network or WiFi connection, preferably on a smartphone or tablet. The application will search for an existing client from the database or allow the option to create or edit a client’s profile. Once the details of a client are retrieved or added, the sales rep can start taking the order by scanning a barcode associated with each clothing item.
