We are in need of a web based system to manage utility asset information that can integrate with our existing web mapping program.
Brief synopsis of project
1. create approximately 40 web forms
* Ability to Insert, update, delete
• Data bound controls
• Textbox, dropdown lists, calendar control (on date fields)
• Data bound Repeater controls
• Validation Controls
• Check for duplicate ID
• Check for text in number fields
• Check for text or numbers in date fields
• File Manager (to load picture, files, etc associated with the utility)
• Display thumbnail if photo
• Display file association icon if file
• Ability to display and edit information from a related structure
• Some assets have parent/child relationship with other assets and need to have information shown on parent page with a link to related asset page
• Track data created by and created on as well as modified by and modified on
• Accessible via query string calling asset type and ID
• Search tool based on structure type and ID. Can be separate page or on each asset page.
2. Access Control - Integration with Active Directory, or table based
* Read – all users
* Write – specified users to specific forms
3. Query Capabilities - Data will be stored in SQL 2005
4. Reporting Capabilities - We are running SQL Reporting Services
• Custom reports
• Reports pre-established by user
• Audit trail report
• User access report
• Table change report - user, time, table, field, original value, new value
Architecture:
* Development Environment: Visual Studio ASP.NET, C# or VB
* Database: SQL Server 2005
* Report Server: SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
* Webserver: IIS 7
* Server: Windows 208
We have a prototype in place for two forms to provide a basic look and feel. We are looking to roll it out for all of our assets. The information to be managed already exists. Responders must have a strong understanding of cardinal relationships in the database. This is a logically complex project and would prefer someone in the Chicago, Illinois vicinity.
