"A comparison table showing the relationship between different records."
Records are held in an MSSQL database. Each record contains about 40 different values. We need a script that compares these records and their values and looks for matches and differences. The results are then outputted to an HTML table similar to that shown.
Records that match or are close matches are color-coded (see image)
The record with the most common (modal) set of values must be listed first.
The code will be in ASP/VB but the output will be an HTML table.
Each record in the database table looks similar to below:
RDFESA 14 13 16 16 13 30 24 10 10 12 11 15 9 11 15 12 13 12 13 18 19 29
RDFESB 14 13 16 16 13 30 24 10 10 12 11 15 9 11 15 12 13 12 13 18 19 29
RDFESC 15 13 16 16 13 30 24 10 10 12 11 15 9 11 15 12 13 12 13 18 19 29
Note that the values for the first two records are indentical and the thrid differs by only one value.
Provided is a zip file with a table schema and sample data. There are 50 records in the sample database provided which then need to have calculations performed on them and displayed in the HTML table.
Our own database contains thousands of records but the number of records that are compared wach time will not exceed 50 and thus the HTML table should be able to hold up to 50 values.
The VB function of most us is probably 'ABS' to calculate differences.
You MUST have a working example on your own server before acceptance of the project.
