Thanks for looking! PLEASE SPECIFICALLY SHOW ME YOUR AJAX EXAMPLES so I can see your strong AJAX skills! I will purchase “active trade 2?? from [login to view URL], which will be the foundation laid for this project. This program will be much like eBay, but people won’t bid money on items. They will bid on items in exchange for other items so it will be a trading website. They have a new dotnetnuke ASP.NET 2.0 version of this program, which is supposed to help make the program more reliable under heavier user conditions. I need a programmer’s recommendation before I buy this. It comes with all source code. This program allows users to bid on items offered by other users. I want to modify it so people MUST barter, and cannot buy. Every user will post all of the items (with pictures) which they are willing to trade. They then find things they want, and have an option to let the person choose any item of theirs that they would want to trade for it, or select particular items. The program must be made to handle pictures well, and this product selection process. Postage will be calculated on the website, based on package weight and dimensions and the website will give the cheapest way to mail the item. I believe it allows trades as bids, so if someone chooses to barter there will be no money exchanged. AJAX will enable it to act more like a computer program than a website. Expect other amenities to help users with mailing their items. You’ll be designing this website as well, with unlimited revisions. There should also be a simple web store and shopping cart built in, so I can sell postage materials to users. ## Deliverables Please read the entire thing before you bid! 1. I would like to build a very dynamic, AJAX intensive site. I really like the way [login to view URL] looks when you add a movie to your queue, and that’s the kind of AJAX effects I’m looking for. Not only necessary things, but unnecessary aesthetic user experience enhancements, which can be suggested by me or the programmer. I’m attaching a picture of Netflix in action so you can see it. Please show me your AJAX examples and your strong AJAX skills! 2. It’s going to be a peer to peer site, much like [login to view URL], but with a different set of rules, many of which I will need your help devising and perfecting. For example, I still need to figure out a way to verify user information without charging them or me, maybe something like [login to view URL] requires, but not necessarily as extensive (phone verification might be good, but no credit card scans or faxes). We will need to come up with a good method of protecting users. This website includes user accounts, a blind user rating system (like on [login to view URL], but also includes a comment system integrated into the rating system, allowing a user to delete comments and not ratings), automated email notifications, random items on the front page display, an internal messaging system, a user photo uploading and resizing system (both for the user accounts themselves and for posting their new items online), a newsletter and user management system, and everything else that this type of site needs. You must realize that it isn’t exactly like eBay, so there will be processes not included on eBay.com. If it's possible, I wouldn't mind you starting with an ASP shopping cart as a foundation, but it's up to you which one to use, because I'm not a programmer, so I don't want to choose one which is difficult to expand upon. Design is also a part of this bid (see number 3). [login to view URL]’ll be designing this website as well, with unlimited revisions until I’m 100 % satisfied. I’m going to be as much help as I can, and I’ll send you design suggestions, but you should have a reasonably good eye for design, and we can work together on this. 4. My goal is to make the site’s processes completely automated, with as little intervention and maintenance as possible. 5. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) isn’t required to bid, but the winning bidder will need to sign one. 6. Please realize the foundation software would only be a foundation, and we will be changing many things along the way. The basic linking of members is set up, but the interface will be very different. 7. I would like a working prototype in 70 days, but I’m very flexible and understanding, and if it’s clear that you’re a hard worker and you’re doing what you can, I won’t hold it against you if it takes longer. To demonstrate that you’re hard working you will a) Give me a progress report (including a weekly upload of all coding done so far, as a backup method) every Friday (Monday at the latest, if you are unavailable on Friday) and b) respond to all of my questions within 2 business days. ALSO, if I give a numbered list of issues, you should respond in a numbered list form as well. This helps ensure that you mention all of my concerns without forgetting anything. 8. American English prevails, so if there is a question about how a question was phrased, that’s the policy. For example, if I offer a million dollar bonus and you say “It’s okay??, this means “no?? in American English, even if it means “yes?? in another country. 9. If we need to chat, a synopsis of our chat conversation needs to be posted to the project forum. I will post this summary, and you need to approve its accuracy when I do this. 10. Safe updating will be a huge factor. I need this site to allow for updates of any little item without rewriting all of the databases. If I add something to the store I don’t want this to cause me to lose all of the member accounts. If a new member edits their account it shouldn’t clear my database of past transactions. Databases should be separated properly. 11. I would like the website to heavily promote users printing their own USPS or UPS postage. This means that postage will be calculated on the website, based on package weight and dimensions and the website will give the cheapest way to mail the item. The website will then make it very easy for users to print pre-addressed postage labels. Expect other amenities to help users with mailing their items. I want it to be very easy and painless for users to mail traded items to each other. 12. There should be a web store and shopping cart built in. I will be selling postage scales, packaging materials, and blank shipping labels for user convenience. It should be easy to update this web store with new items, as well as to place a hold on items that are out of stock. It should also be easy for me to choose from the same postage options on the management end of the software, so if an order is received in the store I can quickly and easily print a pre-addressed label and mail the item. 13. The verification process and web store may include storing important user information, such as credit card numbers, on the server. This means that the site will need to be secured by 128 bit encryption and/or whatever the latest and best method is. If I cannot afford a true secure certificate at this time, it needs to be ready for me to enable once I can buy the certificate. 14. Installation instructions are required. If the program needs to be installed on a new server, and I want to do it myself, I will need to know how to do it, in detail, in layman’s terms and as clear and simplified as possible. 15. There should be a well organized management section of the site for me. It doesn’t need to elegantly involve AJAX like the customer portion, but it does need to have the ability to delete illegal items that users have posted, add products to the store, add a news bulletin, update shipping prices (if it’s not possible to link them to [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]), moderate user ratings and disputes, and anything else that comes up, which I’ll have to edit or modify. I would like the site to start with very limited categories of items, but allow for later expansion. Similarly, I would like to allow only American addresses at first, but allow for later expansion to the rest of the world. 16. The program should have a one year warranty against bugs from the official completion date. This shouldn’t be a big problem if we do our job and test the program along the way. This means that even though you will have already been paid for this program at that point, you will fix a bug found within the program within one week from the time it is reported to you. This one year warranty period also includes THREE instances of you installing the program on a new server for me. I don’t PLAN on doing this, but things happen. 17. This online program should be able to run on all reasonably recent releases of web browsers including IE, Firefox, Safari....I would say that they need to work on at least two or three previous browser versions, as well as the newest versions of these browsers. The default rentacoder info applies as well (Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form, etc.) I am attaching that info along with the picture in the .zip file) This may be amended! I will post any subsequent changes below! ## Platform ASP.NET 2.0, DNN (dotnetnuke), windows server, AJAX
