There are 2 filters (DirectShow) to implement:
?
1-? ? ? ? ? RTSP source filter. The filter input are streams from RTSP servers and connect to a chain of DShow filters to render video data in real time (audio is not necessary). We currently have a prototype in open source library that extracts video packets and store them in a memory buffer. The prototype extracts the video headers information in answer to DESCRIBE command (used fields are optional in RTSP) in MP4 and H.264 formats. In a first approach it would be necessary to create a filter wrapper for the prototype (Push) and provide the specific data in GetMediaType. In the future we’re going to need a filter extension to support other formats as well or extract stream video headers without using DESCRIBE command information.
2-? ? ? ? ? Source/Sink filter to split large streams. This is a wrapper on Source and Sink filters capable to split a large file in fixed length files (1 GB). Furthermore, it should provide video features information (initial time, duration…) and allow random access operations (seek) and detect available space. The file format is still not defined but we’ve certain margin of freedom to chose a format capable to store MP4 and H.264

## Deliverables
The implementation shall not require any proprietary or GPL license because the final user does not want to release the filters source code. Licenses as LGPL and BSD are allowed.
