I am developing a Job Cost time clock system using touchscreen computers(Clients)(xp/2000) to communicate with a win xp/2000 computer(the server) What I need is code (a DLL) written in vb6/vcc that I can insert into the client side and the server side. The client side will allow me to send values, strings back to the server via tcp/ip address. The server side will allow me to set up addresses(up to 10 clients at most), that will be polled. Once the information is passed back or forth, I will be able to process it within my own program. The Server DLL must be able to know what clients are open/running/avail. The client must be able to know if the server is available. Values that will need to be passed will be: Time punched in, punched out, employee name, job [login to view URL], Number of pieces. I would like to be able to allow for other items also. Perhaps a string or strings and values will be allowed to pass. I will have the server side program running, and it will communicate via this new dll written code to the clients and process the information. I am avid vb6 programmer, but lack the knowledge todo this type of coding. There may need to be some more discussion as there might be items that im not aware with networking, that are involved here. The client/server will be on a private network that uses a 24 port switch and common windows networking. There should be consideration for speed and response time. When the user(punches in), sends info to the server, the server process's it and sends info back about the punch, Speed will need to be important

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) A simple client/server app demoing the code. 5) 3-5 day period to test the code and submit corrections if needed.
