determine whether a file is in .obj (COFF) format

I need a very simple program to open a file and determine whether it's a legal Microsoft object file (COFF format). Assume this cannot be done by checking the extension, which may have been removed or changed.

I actually thought I had this working already but just ran into a legal .obj file which my test does not find. Check the attachment for sample .obj files.

## Deliverables

Check the attachment. It contains 4 legal .obj files. The two in the Debug folder start with the documented COFF magic number 0x014c and are easily detected as COFF. The two in the Release folder must be correct, because they are linked successfully, but they do not begin with the magic number as I understand it.
