Assist in structuring layout of online magazine

I have installed OpenPublish / Drupal. I previously used newscoop cms and I am not familiar with Drupal.
I basically need someone to look at the current configuration, and fix it up as necessary to allow me, and a bunch of journalist/interns upload articles in to at present 4 categories. I also need one page of the magazine to remain static with an embedded google calendar, and one page to remain static with my ecwid online store embedded. It should be a straight forward task for someone with knowledge of Drupal. Once this work is done I should be able to pick up and run with the content side and basic changes.
