Cricket statistics

Hello,

I'm a Ph.D. student interested in doing some recreational analysis (!), and I'd like to work with someone to design a web-crawler that would capture the data from the statsguru database (<[url removed, login to view]>) on the CRIC INFO website.? This database has an enormous amount of information about cricket matches, players and referees. I would like to download all of it and subject it to analysis.

Preferably, I'd like to work with someone who understands the game, and the idea would be to write a crawler that downloads all these records and put them in to a usable database (preferably in *.dta for analysis with stata, but *.mdb works too).

What I need are:

1. Player-Match? level stats : Statistics for each player who has ever played the game for every match ever played? , i.e. player x in match y scored z amount of runs, took q amount of wickets? etc...? (there should be a match id and a player id to give a unique record, additionally there should be a field which tells us if it's a Test, ODI, 20-20).

2. Match level stats : For each game ever played, date, outcome,? on which ground it was played, who the referees were? c.... (match id should? yield a unique record)?

3. Player-level stats: For each player ever an aggregate statistic for their career (player id level, and I would mostly use this to check if 1. has been done correctly).
