The main software is operated by the publisher, and a ‘reader’ is created which allows subscribers to install a simple program which checks for alerts. This is how the above systems work ??" so nothing new there. If possible, the reader should have the ability to check for RSS feeds as well (just like the Ezine Express system). To create the above, should not be a problem, as various versions already exist. I would also like to include a additional feature. This would be either to be able to run the core service as a membership version, or to be able to offer multiple licensed versions, each license can be remotely disabled if the person stops paying. Membership version A membership site which sells to publishers the Direct to Desktop Publishing system, and they pay a monthly fee. Each member runs their own separate version of the software ??" and can do so from a central membership system. Licensed Version, Publishers buy the software on a monthly ‘lease’ ??" paying a regular monthly amount, they can use the software as much as they like. But, if they stop paying the monthly amount, I can revoke their license / disable the software.
