****The following bid request if for a web site that has adult content on it. If you are under the age of 18, or you are offended by adult content, then PLEASE DO NOT BID.**** This project is to convert a text based BBS system from Discusware [login to view URL] to phpbb3 This forum will operate under Joomla so knowledge of Joomla would be a bonus. Note 1: There is an import script which converts the discusware forum to phpbb 2 (Then an upgrade to phpbb3 is required) [login to view URL];t=152429&start=45 Note 2: Some data standardization will be required to cleanup the data before it is imported into phpbb Note 3: You will need to do at least one test import, until the imported data is clean. Then re-run the import, at a later date, on the prod server The site is using mySQL on a Linux server

The greatest difficulty will be importing the data properly. Forums these days are mostly easy to install, but transferring the data is not. For that you need a good knowledge of SQL. Before I was doing internet software I did Access/Excel/InSQL/Visual Foxpro and other database applications and I have a very firm understanding of manipulating data. You also need a willingness to patiently work with the often wacky table structures of many message boards/blogs. I'm looking at you, Wordpress. I have the excessive perfectionism required to spot the inevitable errors when converting. The good-enough crowd will leave you with 'glitches' and 'ghosts in the machine' forever. And that is a very long time.
