Hi, actually i have a website [login to view URL] and I have a script, in excell (VBA) that can easly scrape onother site and export, from it, a lot of information related to the product that i sell (image included). Usually i do like this: 1. run the excell script in order to scrape the other website; 2. After this, i manually make same adjustment to the excell file and, when the file is ready, 3. import it (with an extension called OPENCART PRO) into my website. 4. After this i import all the Pictures (scraped before), via FTP, into my server and....done! A new catalog is online. What i want to do? I would like to automate all the process, for example, 1 time per week. Or, if necessary, when i want, maybe via admin site... I will give you all the necessary details. Server accept chron job. Hi, I read your project, and think that I can do it, but I'll need some extra information to be sure. To automate this process I would do this: 1) php script that will scrape websites using for example simple_php_dom_parser. Since u already have scraper in vba, this should be easy task. Of course need to check which websites you want to scrape before I can confirm that will be possible to do it in php. 2) this part can be tricky because of variety of data and adjustments you use. So I also need some examples (ofc if u pick me for this project) of what adjustments are u made. 3 & 4) since it will use php scraping on server, all the necessary data and images will be there, so nor importing nor uploading will be necessary.

Hello, Since the scraper is writter in VBA, I will likely rewrite it in ruby (I assume the extension accepts CSV files). I can then use php-cli or a post request to upload the data, with the images already in place. I can schedule a cron job and if required, add an option for an immediate scrape. I have 5 years experience as a php and ruby programmer and this will be a straightforward job. Thank you for your time and let me know your thoughts. Kind regards, Ovidiu
