Database Back End, Using variables

Hi, here are the facts. PLEASE DO NOT BID BLINDLY JUST TO GET MY ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!! You MUST understand Linux, you CANNOT simply just use a front end to MySQL. I need something EFFICIENT, SOLID, ready for growth AND MySQL's new redundancy functions. You need to fully understand these things as well as either PHP or Perl/CGI programming. I would like to work with someone who FULLY understands Linux. That, to me, will help US for future projects. I've wanted to build a dating/personals site since the mid 90's when I registered a strong domain name which I still own. I've hired countless programmers over the years and no matter how I've approached it with them, I've always been left with incomplete projects and nothing to show for the money invested. Also, each time they've built a site, it ended up being something we could never do much with, needing endless programming every time we wanted to make even the smallest change. That is simply not a good approach for anyone. At this stage, I've decided to try something else. What we really need is something like ATG, Cold Fusion, others along those lines. An HTML front end with a dynamic MySQL backend. On MySQL, we need a database back end which we can EASILY modify ourselves as needed. In other words, we need a simple browser based front end which will allow us to add/remove/ update the database with new fields for sections, functions, features we'd like to add. We know there are plenty of MySQL browser based controls but we need one that would allow non database, non programmers, to make changes, updates, additions, etc. On the front end, we would like to use straight forward HTML since it is never easy to make PHP changes unless you are a programmer, as mentioned above. Each time we've had a php site, it ended up being a nightmare since we could not even make the most basic changes without some programmer telling us it would require dozens of php page updates, absolutely frustrating. Like ATG and Cold Fusion and others, we would like to use variables to call up the things we need in the database, much like ATG or Cold Fusion and other back end servers of this type. The variables would be used in our HTML so that we can call up and display ads and other information. I'm sure you understand this concept of course. We need a relatively simple input and output method between HTML and the database. I'd like something VERY efficient, not insanely CPU intensive so that only a few users could be using the database and overwhelm it :). We need to allow for growth as well as automated redundancy using MySQL's latest redundancy features. Let me know what else you need for information. We have some HTML pages with questions (input/output) already created, we even have a database that's already created and running. It might be more cost effective to use that or it might make more sense to start over, depending on the costs. If I can FINALLY find someone to count on, this would only be the start as once the main site is finally running as we want it, I would want all sorts of additions and services which I have other ideas for. In addition, we are also IT consultants and are ALWAYS looking for good people to put together various applications... this would only be the start of something bigger.
