I have a site that is nearing completionby outsourced programmers. It is a custom oscommerce pc building website, and it is similar to sites such as [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] on the way that the ecommerce custom pc building process works.
The programmers are good, but I do not know if they can do the scripting that I am in need of.
I need the following:
1) I need to be able to assign dependencies from previous products instead of dependencies on catagories. (Certain products should only show up if the previous product was selected).
For example. Currently, I can make the catagory "Power Supply" only show up if AMD style computer is selected. It is called the "Enable Under" option.
Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
I want to be able to have cases with both power supplies and no-power supplies. Then on the next options box for power supplies, it should be defaulted to either "Standard Case Power Supply" or "Default Power Supply" depending on whether or not the case has the power supply. Thus, this part is dependent on the previous part.
Another example:
I want to be able to have a Processor catagory with 3 different AMD processors that all show up in the processor box. Each of these processors could require a different socket type motherboard. For example if I choose a Processor that requires socket 939 (Amd X2 3800), then on the next catagory only processors that have the "Enable Under" Amd X2 3800 selected on admin side will show up.
Currently OSCommerce only lets me set 1 default per part catagory, and it does not change depending on what parts were previously selected.
I need to have this dependency option for motherboard, power supplies, memory, and processor.
This project will not need to be started until the other programmers finish my site (could be 1 - 3 weeks).
I have put this budget in the 100-300 range because I have no idea if it is simple or not, if it is easier, please bid accordingly.
Please PM for questions or link to my website (I cannot show ecommerce side yet, as they have taken link down while working on it).
