Care Program

This app is completed with minor bits and pieces currently being updated. Its a prog for looking after children in care A Social Worker needs to be kept uptodate with a childs progress whilst in a care facility. The social worker will be updated daily via a server update which is backed up by another application located at the childs care home. I need the app to be able to 'back' itself upto a server via ftp. The Social Workers app will dial in to same server and will download any updates on the childs progress. While I'm making updates for the app itself which I will 'upload to server, I need the Social Workers app to automatically perform a file compare for prog updates, download these and install.... ## Deliverables Wonder if you can help me this? Looked around but could'nt find anything. Tried for months to work this out I want to be able to get a VB app to automatically upload itself to my sever as a backup at a defined time i.e 02:00hours. This will automatically find the port on PC and connect via ftp and perform a backup. I then want another app in another location to connect to the same server and download all or specific files from the 'Backup' In addition and to save time I want the app to 'compare' itself to updated files for the app itself so that whenever I make any updates for the app I will save them to my server. So when it checks with my server it will compare itself and if it sees such updates will automaically download them over writing the 'old' scripts in the app. Does this make sense?.......
