Childcare Parent Portal and Application

Childcare centers normally fill out paper sheets called "daily reports" telling the parents what their child ate, went to bathroom, activities and their general mood. This project will make this task paperless, immediate and allow the parent and provider to have a two way communication platform to share things about their child. COMPONENTS OF PROJECT 1. Web Based Website & Portal 2. iPhone/iPad & Android App The mobile app and the web based portal will communicate together so if updates are made on the website the app gets updated and vice versa. This project is mainly a database with relationships, reporting and communications. USERS & RELATIONSHIPS Administrators - Create Centers (schools), directors, classes, teachers, parents & children Directors - See only their center, can add classes, teachers, parents & children Teachers - Can only see their class, see the children in their class Parents - Can only see their child(ren) FEATURES THAT MUST BE INCLUDED Photo & Video Sharing Attendance (Check in & Check out) with Reporting Location Based features that trigger notifications and actions Two way communication with other users through Chat Users can click on links in app that trigger making a phone call Entering reminders that trigger notifications SMS & Email Notifications Each child's profile will consist of personal information fields, daily report archive, medical history, allergies, portfolio (collection of images & videos), incidents (notes), and communication log (archive of all chat logs regarding this child) Push Notifications to individual user, to entire class to entire center Integration to Social Networks so users can post images, videos and daily reports to Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest Users need to be able to create accounts and sign in using Facebook Track when children eat & what they eat Track when children go to the bathroom and the type of bowel movement Track when children nap, the time they start each nap and when they wake up Parent can tell teacher if something happened the night before or that morning so they are on the same page Parent can register medicine and teacher will get notifications when they need to administer meds and parents notified when that happens. REPORTING NOTIFICATIONS Users need to be able to choose which update they would like to receive a notification for. For example, one user may want to receive notifications when their child eats but not when their child sleeps Notifications need to be sent Push to the app, as an email and text message SMS.
