We're in the midst of developing a Web site. We've developed a comprehensive list of things we need our site to incorporate. If you have had experience doing all of these things we invite you to bid on the project. We're looking for someone who can do this within a month and a half and who is professional and knowledgeable as we are very serious about this project. Please see below for our list of requirements.
What we will use the site for:
- There will a requirement for easily placed ads that are fairly minimal they need to flow into the design of the site, be clean and neat and not abrasive and overpowering. The information on this site will be updated regularly, most likely daily, and will need to be done with great ease and without causing havoc to the site.
Design
- The design, which really is probably the most important thing. We need the design to be clean, modern, sophisticated and very easy to navigate. The ongoing content generation is crucial to keep people perusing the site.
- On the home page we would like a flash element that displays images and links to content. In each sub-main page we will also want that to be an element, just not as large. It needs to look professional and say we mean business! But be sexy, fun, and sophisticated all in one!
In more detail we need....
Social media
- The functionality of this site will include social media feeds and links (so “like this article on facebook”, “tweet this article”, “e-mail this article” etc…)
- Ability to create a profile (while retaining ability to fully browse the site and leave comments without a profile)
- Home page should be customizable so the user can choose what content they want to see when they open their homepage.
- The user should have the ability to run an RSS Feed of all their social networking sites to the homepage of this site.
- This site will be made up of many articles. Every article will have to have a “Share This” link at the bottom which will allow it to be shared via Facebook and Twitter. Our pages will also need a “print this” “email this” link
- Users will also have to have the ability to comment on every article on our site. We would like for our users to be able to filter the comments they see on the articles (ie. They can choose to only see comments from users in a certain city, or they can choose to see all comments)
- The site should be able to identify what city the user is in without the user having to enter their information, however, the user should also easily be able to switch cities as they please
- We need the design of the site to aesthetically incorporate advertising space
- We will be running city-specific ads so the advertising needs to be able to change depending on the city while the content stays the same
- We will need rotating content on all of the main pages so top stories can easily be scrolled through, as new articles are added they can easily be populated to the homepage etc.
Users will need to be able to easily add their own photos to certain sections of the site
- We will need various quotes to appear on the homepage and main pages (so each time a user opens that page or refreshes it, a new quote appears)
- We have some design elements in mind, but we will need the company we hire to help us develop our look
- There will be one homepage, and nine sub-homepages (with other pages underneath) – all nine of the sub-homepages will look similar but will need something to set them apart from each other (whether it’s a new colour, a modified logo etc.)
- We will want auto-population links on our article pages (ie. If you like this, maybe you’ll like this)
- We will need to be able to easily update this site ourselves on a weekly (or maybe even daily) basis
- We will need assistance (or have the site set up) so that we can easily use SEO for our articles/pages
Newsletter sign up
- We need a simple sign up box that captures the email address of the user.
In closing, we need a quote based on what we have out
