Website: Users input lottery numbers to verify if other users have already chosen them

Definitions

Lottery number: The combination of numbers that make up a lottery number. For example: 22 56 05 16 24 12

Concept

The idea behind the website is to let the user do two primary things:

1.) Check to see if their lottery number (for example: 22 56 05 16 24 12) has already been selected by another user of the site. This is accomplished by comparing their lottery number with the lottery numbers already added to the database. If their number matches a number already in the database then a red X (or something similar) will display to the right of their number along with a message that says something like, "This number has already been chosen". If their number does not match a number already in the database then a green check mark will display along with a short message.

2.) Add their lottery numbers to the database and display a red error message to any user who inputs that same number.

Design

The main page should have a list of general links at the very top of the page and just below that the website name should be displayed and below that a text message box and below that should be a drop down menu with a link to each lottery's page such as "Colorado Lottery", "Mega Millions", or "Powerball". Powerball should be the default selection for the homepage. Each lottery's page should look similar to every other lottery's page with the exception of the title of the lottery just below the drop down menu.

Each lottery should have its own database or at least its own database directory so that after someone has won that particular lottery I can then delete all of the numbers in that lottery's database.

Below the tabs, in the middle of the page, should be two options:

1.) The first option should have the title of "Verify" and should be on the left side of the page. Under that title the text should read "Verify that your lottery number has not already been chosen." Underneath this text should be an option to input a lottery number in a format that looks similar to the Powerball lottery number display. Meaning, there should be six circles, the first five should be white and the last should be red. In each circle the user can input each of the six numbers contained in their lottery number. For example, if their lottery number was 22 56 05 16 24 12, they would input 22 in the first circle, 56 in the second circle, and so on. Then they can press a submit button that will then check to see if their lottery number, in this case 22 56 05 16 24 12, matches with a lottery number already in the database.

2.) The second option should have the title of "Add" and should be on the right side of the page. Under that title the text should read "Add your lottery number to the database to ensure that no other user chooses it." Underneath this text should be an option to input a lottery number in the same way described in option 1. After submitting a lottery number a success message should display to let them know that their number has been successfully submitted.

After inputting two digits into each circle the cursor should automatically transfer to the next circle.

After submitting a lottery number and a success or error message is displayed, the number that they submitted should be visible either in the circles or somewhere nearby and an option just to the right of the 'submit' button should allow the user to reset the circles so they can input a new number.
