I need to create a shopping cart basket recovery solution for an ecommerce store. It must work with both oscommerce, wordpress, and also magento. It will require the creation of 2 small pieces of javascript code and the creation of a database to store data.
The purpose of the javascript will be to create an email form for a user before they enter the shopping cart. Since 97% of potential customers abandon a shopping cart before they complete the purchase, I want to capture the email so I can follow up with a coupon to incentivise the customer to come back and finish the purchase.
The first piece of code will capture an email address and must tie into an opensource email autoresponder solution like phpmail, or possibly even a CRM like SugarCRM etc. The customer will be cookied and the email address will be stored in a database. The email autoresponder will send out a templated email to the customer offering a coupon incentive to complete the purchase.
The second piece of javascript code that will be dropped onto the confirmation page for tracking which customers will need to be emailed and also to determine which customers come back and convert to a sale (the tracking code would be similar to the google analytics code snippet)
If you can create this, i will also want to add a tracking feature that shows unique visitors, conversions to sale, etc in the future so there is also future work involved.
