Medical clinic has in the last year converted to electronic medical records. It is not simply a document indexing program; it has all kinds of features such as being able to send prescriptions to pharmacies, all kinds of billing tools, etc. Were at the point where we need to scan all of our paper charts and add those scanned images to each patient profile. We can currently manually click and drag files into the program but that would be very time consuming. We are looking to have a database utility made that would, based on the folder/file names, import them into our programs database and into the patient charts / specific categories. I think they call this mapping. The patient profiles are already created and each have a unique call number.
Example: Folder name is "Robertson,Steven". It contains three subfiles; "[login to view URL]", "[login to view URL]". The program would need to put [login to view URL] into the progress notes section and [login to view URL] into the prescription section. Currently we do this by opening the scanning utility in the program, scanning in the documents, assigning it to a patient name, then picking a category for the scanned item from a drop down menu.
I think the program is SQL based, based on the fact that we occasionally get SQL errors within the program.
