Hi, I need help with my harddisk. Today evening I wanted to boot up my notebook (Acer Travelmate 620, WD 20GB Harddisk) and failed. I got a message during starup, something like "..can't access file c:/winnt/system/[login to view URL] or .nfl??). And the bootup was interrupted, the Win2000 couldn't boot up. I tried multiple times, but always the system hangs with the same error. I then took out the harddisk, and connected it to my desktop: I replaced the CD-Rom by the notebook-harddisk. When I started my desktop, it took very long time. It looked like it couldn't read the attached notebook-harddisk and this time I also received errors like "..can't read segment 65002, segment 65003 etc.". Then, it started CHDSK, which again took 30 minutes or so, it was very slow. You could see and feel that it had a hard time reading the attached notebook-disk. Finally my deskto (also Win2000) booted up successfully and I was even able to see the attached notebook-disk: it was drive D: and F: The notebook-disk has 2 partitions. Now: I can access the first partition D: (which is C: when the disk is attached to the notebook). But I can't access F: (which is D: when attached to the notebook). I receive a message like "...drive looks like not formatted..." When I open the system contron panel and open the list which shows all attached drives, the drive appears, and both partitions D: and F: are marked as "active". There is no sign of a defect or so. But when I try to open Explorer and want to open F: for browsing its content it doesn't work. It refuses to browse the files.
