We have a partially developed website written in Java that is using GWT and MySQL which needs additional work to be completed.
The website should be simple and look professional. It is a tool to enable Automobile Dealerships to electronically apply for loans on behalf of their customers. The site will process loan applications and instantly return a decision generated by a small decision-making engine running on the web server. It will utilize a simple deterministic algorithm we have designed. The parameters must be customizable to specific users and adjustable.
**The site will assist lending decisions, but the actual financial transactions will occur offline. You will not be responsible for the transactional functions.**
The general architecture and some of the components of the project are already done. Your job is to complete the work. To assist you in getting up to speed with the code quickly, we will provide you a virtual machine (VM) that has the development environment (Eclipse, MySQL, etc.) and running code. Please suggest a work plan and a reasonable deadline
More Details:
You will design the back-end decision making engine that will automatically assess loans. Additional development of the database will also be required
You will design the front-end user interfaces for three types of user accounts:
1) Car Dealers, which can:
-Initiate loan applications,
-Receive lending approvals/denials
-Review lending reports of historic lending activities
2) Financial Institution officers, which can:
-Define and updated lending criteria
-Record completed transactions,
-Generate risk analysis reports
3) A system administrator which can:
-Set up new accounts
-Make changes to existing accounts
-See and change all user fields and tasks
-Access database
The site must be secure as it will contain sensitive identification and financial information.
## Deliverables
1) source code in Java using the most recent stable version of GWT that exists at the time of delivery
2) documentation:
a. full Javadoc comments
b. apart from the javadoc comments the code of each function must be divided to logical sections and each section must be preceded by a regular comment that briefly justifies what the following lines of code are doing.
3) any/all installation software/scripts needed to seamlessly install the system to a new server
4) the entire development workspace
5) a virtual machine that has the entire development environment installed and ready to be used by another team to continue the development seamlessly if necessary (can be any O/S of your choice or you can update/work on the one we provide you)
6) a virtual machine that has the final application installed and running as a service and which could potentially be used as the final server (again O/S of your choice, and it can even be the same exact VM as the development one. i.e., you don;t have to provide two different VMs if you don't want) The application should not just run in the development environment. It must be installed using release applications, such as apache, tomcat, websphere, etc.
Note: You can deliver the VM(s) by regular mail (in a DVD-R) if network bandwidth is an issue to you.
